Myths are known all over the world. Some cultures worship myths, they believe in the stories they tell. A myth is a traditional story, or a legend. Native Americans have something they call mythic times. Mythic times are "where things are not as they are here, and historical time, similar in most respects to contemporary life."
The Native Americans did things differently than we do now. People would get really involved with myths if they took place in the mythical times. Telling common characteristics to the world is even more effective than your telling people what really happened. Although to cover all of this there are people who say them. These people are called shamans. To them myths are stories that are sacred. The myths are mostly about heroes and how people found the homeland.
